Mental Health Awareness Walk

Sunday, May 31, 2026 | Longview Lake Park, Shelter 12 | 10:00 am

***Note, selections are based on order of sign-ups.  You will be notified if selected to volunteer.***

Supports the physical preparation of the event space to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all participants. Responsibilities include setting up registration tables and chairs, preparing the water station area, placing directional cones, assisting with the balloon arch installation, and positioning the start banner and starting tape.

Serves as the first point of contact for participants, creating a positive and organized check-in experience. Responsibilities include checking in attendees using printed registration lists, assisting with on-site registrations if needed, and handling point-of-sale transactions for walk-ups or merchandise.

Helps keep participants refreshed and supported throughout the event. Responsibilities include distributing bottled water to walkers, maintaining a clean and stocked water station, and offering encouragement to participants as they pass through.

Assists with food service to ensure an efficient and enjoyable experience for attendees. Responsibilities include serving Tiki Taco meals, managing food distribution lines, maintaining cleanliness at the serving area, and ensuring safe food handling practices.

Helps maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment throughout the event. Responsibilities include monitoring the event area, assisting with crowd flow, addressing any concerns or incidents, and communicating with event leadership or local authorities if needed.

Supports safe and efficient vehicle flow for all attendees. Responsibilities include directing cars to designated parking areas, assisting with traffic flow, ensuring accessibility spaces are reserved, and providing general guidance to arriving and departing guests.

Assists with dismantling and packing up event materials at the conclusion of the walk. Responsibilities include taking down tables, chairs, signage, cones, balloon arch, and other event elements, and ensuring all items are properly stored or loaded for transport.


Helps maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the event space during and after the event. Responsibilities include monitoring for litter throughout the event, emptying trash as needed, and conducting a final sweep to leave the park clean and presentable.
